Last days...

farewell parties, farewell dinners, skill transfers, packing - i didn't think it could be that physically demanding, especially the packing. i realized i accumulated stuffs i don't even need. but i can't just throw them away because precious memories are attached to them.

two years. not bad.

i am still the same person basically, just a little older (ouch). longer hair, learned to cook a little, saw Lisa Loeb's acoustic concert once, owns a pair of Michel Klein knee-high boots, has tons of pictures, and generally laughs more. (my mother will kill me if she reads that sentence - for severe violation of the parallelism rule in sentence construction. not to mention it's just a very long phrase actually, no proper subject and predicate. why the hell am i thinking about grammar, this is a blog, not an essay writing contest). anyway, i still have axieties, but nothing too big to sit on. nail-biting will do it.

i am fully aware of the things i'll miss once i'm back to the philippines - starbucks, impulsive shopping, ski (obviously) , Body Shop and GAP splurging, Kirin Lemon Gogotea, Baskin n Robbins, Mike's, etc. etc...

but then i could go to Fitness First, compose text messages in my cellphone without having to shift between english-japanese-whatevers modes all the time. my hair can be trimmed more than once a year, i can eat mangoes and banana Qs all the time, go to movie theatres anytime, continue my driving lessons, i don't have to wear the annoying thermal stuffs and gloves and mufflers (my boots, too. unfortunately). i can go to davao whenever the budget would allow.

you see, i think it's just a state of mind. wherever you are, you always have enough options how to splurge your hard-earned moolah. we gain or loose weight regardless of the place. we can get scared, excited, hurt, and happy all the same.
